When you run the System Restore tool on a Windows XP system AND The System Restore dialog is completely blank.
OR
The calendar on the left side of the "Choose a Restore Point" window is not displayed.
OR
SEARCH BOX EMPTY IN WINDOWS XP
Login as Administrator or equivalent. Click Start, Run and type these commands one by one:regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
regsvr32 /i mshtml.dll (For Internet Explorer 6 only)
AND RESTART THE SYSTEM. (If in case the issue is still not fixed then uninstall IE8 and perform the same again)
